Defects or Requirements created with Tasktop are missing required fields

Last Updated: Jun 26, 2015 08:51AM PDT

If you are able to submit new defects or requirements with Tasktop, but when viewed in the web UI there are required fields missing, this means that the fields are not actually required by the project (otherwise it would not be possible to submit without providing values for these fields). Instead, the web UI has most likely been configured with a workflow script which makes those fields required when using the web UI. Tasktop (by necessity) uses a different workflow script than the one used by the web UI. To resolve this issue, you will either need to change the workflow script and project configuration so that these fields are required at the project level, rather than by the workflow script, OR, create a client-side workflow script to make these fields required when using Tasktop. See http://help.tasktop.com/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.tasktop.hp.qc.help.ui/html/server-configuration.html for more information about client-side workflow scripts.
