Known Issues and Limitations of the Microsoft TFS connector:

  • It is not possible to search for tasks/entities
  • More complex local query is not available
  • WorkItem cannot always be opened from anywhere in Eclipse with the Mylyn task editor
  • Custom attribute editor for double and int types and a way to contribute them to Mylyn are not available
  • It's not possbile to organize or sort the attribute section of long-text and html fields
  • Users cannot handle changeset links
  • TFS loses comment for new attachments
  • TFS task editor does not display proxy associations despite the association being visible from the TFS web UI
  • TEE10.x (Team Explorer Everywhere) is unable to create a connection to a task repository; use TEE11 instead
  • A task repository created with TEE 10.x cannot be used to add new queries (need to delete and recreate this repository)
  • Only the first query clicked on in the query dialog will be added. Close the dialog and reopen to select a different query.
  • Creating new tasks directly from the "New" dropdown (selecting your repository directly) uses the last selected task type. To change the task type, use "New Task" and follow the wizard.
  • Cannot create subtasks
  • Cannot create or edit queries using Teamprise query editor
  • Cannot track time using Tasktop's time reporting
  • Angle brackets ("<" and ">") are lost from comment text
  • Certain queries cannot be executed because of an "unknown MODE parameter" (ReturnMatchingChildren). Those queries will not show up in the Tasktop Sync UI. examples are the out-of-the-box "XYZ Iteration" queries
  • Does not support projects which have multiple users with the same user name on separate domains.
  • Does not support per-user field access rules. For example, a field configured to be read-only for all but one specific user will appear in Tasktop Sync and Dev as read-only for all users.
  • TEE 11 and Tasktop Dev will not launch when they are installed together into an Eclipse 3.8.0 based IDE. We recommend updating to Eclipse 3.8.2 before installing Tasktop Dev with Microsoft TFS connector.
